Google announced on October 28, 2026 that the Chrome browser can fill in forms with information taken from your Gmail.
The feature is called enhanced autofill and it runs on Gemini, Google's artificial intelligence.
What data it can fill in
When you type in a form, Chrome can suggest details that are in your emails:
- Order numbers from recent purchases. - Tracking numbers for packages. - Flight bookings, for example the code you need to check in.
The suggestions appear in a section called Suggested by Gemini. When you tap them, Chrome shows where the detail came from.
Regular autofill still handles the basics: name, address and card.
Before this feature, Google tested a version in Chrome Canary that also read Google Photos and other apps.
Where and for whom
The feature is starting to roll out only in the United States, on computers, Android and iPhone.
To use it, you need Gemini in Chrome with the Personal Intelligence option turned on. That is the layer that lets Gemini look into other Google apps connected to your account.
What about privacy
Google says sensitive data is encrypted and that the user decides. Enhanced autofill can be turned on or off, and you can choose what it can access, from Chrome's settings.
Even so, there are doubts. The outlet Android Authority noted that Google recently changed its rules so it can use Personal Intelligence data to personalize ads. It is not clear whether that affects this feature.
For now, Google has not said when it will reach other countries or other languages.
