News published on October 29, 2026. The situation may have changed since then.

A Russian drone struck Dnipro train station, in one of the largest cities in southeastern Ukraine, on Thursday, October 29, 2026. At least 13 people were killed.

What happened

According to the EFE agency, it was a jet-powered drone, faster than ordinary drones. It hit one of the platforms, where a passenger train bound for Zaporizhzhia was waiting.

The regional governor, Oleksandr Ganzha, confirmed 13 dead. There are different figures for the injured: he spoke of five, and President Volodymyr Zelensky of about ten.

Dnipro has almost a million inhabitants and is a key rail hub for eastern and southern Ukraine.

There was an alert

The head of the rail company explained that the alarm had been raised, but that unfortunately many people were still on the platform.

Reactions

Zelensky called the attack "atrocious". Local authorities condemned it as an act of terrorism.

A day of contrasts

The attack came on the same day the humanitarian mission began in Oleshky, in the Kherson region, thanks to a local truce between Russia and Ukraine. And while Moscow hosts a summit with African countries, the Kremlin denounced a Ukrainian attack with more than 1,200 drones on Russian territory.
