News published on October 28, 2026. The situation may have changed since then.

A moment of live television has become one of the most-watched videos in Mexico this week. Host Ernesto Chavana kicked a drone in the middle of his show, and it shot straight into a co-worker's face.

What happened

It happened on Monday, October 26, 2026, on "Es Show", an entertainment program on Multimedios (Channel 6), broadcast from Monterrey.

A drone filming from above was flying low, very close to the presenters. Chavana, annoyed, gave it a kick. The drone flew off and struck Isabella Rojas, a Colombian model on the show known as "La Colombiana", in the face.

Rojas covered her face and her co-workers helped her out of the studio to be seen by paramedics. Meanwhile, the show stayed on the air.

The incident happened live: the drone hit the model on the lip and she needed medical care.

The apology

Chavana didn't go over to help her at that moment and at first blamed the production team for the drone. Minutes later, in another segment, he apologized: "I'm very sorry, I take responsibility for what just happened".

Rojas came back to the studio shortly afterwards and said her injuries were minor. The production team said the host will pay for her medical costs.

Who Chavana is

He was born in Monterrey in 1967 and is a veteran of the city's television. He was a soccer commentator for almost 20 years, covered the 1998 and 2006 World Cups, and has hosted "Es Show" since 2002.

What social media says

The clip went viral on X and TikTok and Chavana's name trended. Most people criticize two things: the lack of safety with a drone in the studio and the fact that the host didn't help his co-worker. Many are demanding he be fired; others think the model should take legal action. So far, the network hasn't announced any sanction.
