A visit with history
Go Nagai returns to Lucca almost half a century after his first visit. And he arrives in a special year: the festival turns 60.
Mazinger Z premiered in Japan in 1972 and was one of the first anime series about giant robots piloted by a person.

An exhibition called *Sole, cuore e acciaio* (Sun, heart and steel), with giant replicas of the robots from Mazinger Z and Grendizer, plus Devilman and his comic version of the Divine Comedy.
Meetings with the public on October 28 and 30, by reservation. At the first one he drew live while the theme songs of his shows played.
An official shop in Piazza San Martino, with special editions of his manga and collectible figures.
On Thursday the 29th he also takes part in the festival awards.
Who Go Nagai is
He is one of the most influential manga artists in history. Besides the robots, he created characters such as Devilman and Cutie Honey, and his series left a mark on several generations in Spain and Latin America.
