News published on October 29, 2026. The situation may have changed since then.

Mexican singer Kenia Os announced that she will have surgery in December. She shared it on October 26, 2026 during a livestream with her fans.

Why she is having surgery

Kenia Os has endometriosis, a disease in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside it and can cause a lot of pain.

She says the disease is under control, but at her last appointment her gynecologist recommended surgery. She also said she has hormonal problems due to polycystic ovary syndrome.

Endometriosis affects roughly one in ten women of reproductive age, according to the World Health Organization.

When

Her last concert of the year will be on November 21 in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas. After that, she will spend December having surgery and resting.

She has not shared details of the operation. Some outlets mention a one-week recovery, but she has not confirmed it.

Why she is sharing it

Kenia Os said she wants to share her experience to fight misinformation about hormones and help other women going through the same thing. "I have a lot of faith", she said.
